Crunchy Balsamic Green Beans

Updated: Jan 23, 2022

A whole recipe for a side of green beans? Yes.

These aren’t just regular green beans. No. These are cool green beans. These are not a boring, bland side of green beans.

These are seasoned, crunchy, balsamic green beans.

There really isn’t much to say about these other than what I’ve already said…. In college, my friend Tadd would make us green beans like these (without the balsamic, that was my own addition) and we would kill them.

So, if you’re a broke college student – this is the recipe for you.

Or, if you’re a parent and you need a way to get these green friends flavored up so your kids will eat them – this is the recipe for you.

OR, if you prefer flavorful healthy, options - this is the recipe for you.

One last note before I share – you can use French style (my favorite), cut green beans, or whole like I used here. Do what feels right in your heart.

Crunchy Balsamic Green Beans

Instructions:

1-2 cans green beans or 2 cups whole green beans

2-3 T. extra virgin olive oil (my favorite!)

1 T. Balsamic Vinegar (add to your Walmart list here)

1 T. garlic powder

Salt and pepper

Directions:

1. Heat your pan to medium-high heat. Add the EVOO.

2. When the oil is hot, add the green beans.

3. Add garlic, salt and pepper. Mix to combine, coating the green beans in olive oil and seasoning.

4. After 8-10 minutes, the green beans will start to blister and get a little “crunchy”.

5. If your green beans aren’t getting blistered, you probably need to turn your heat up a little higher.

6. Once the green beans have turning brown and crunchy, add in the balsamic vinegar and mix around to coat everything. Let sizzle for 30-60 seconds, and then remove from the heat.

7. Serve with anything you want, maybe this chicken, and enjoy!
