Embracing Change & November Intention Setting

Happy Friday the 5th!

We are already almost a week into November and the year is creeping (rather quickly) to a close. The Holiday Season is here, and I feel like the uptick everyone’s energy is pretty tangible. The weather is quickly changing here in Kansas, change being a big theme right now.

I’m going to cut straight to the chase because I have a lot I want to share today, and I have a lot to do after writing this. Productive Friday’s, that’s the spirit!

The Holiday Season can be overwhelming and anxiety inducing, at a minimum, that can cause us to react in ways that we feel like we’ve grown from. There is just so much going on during this time from busy schedules for the kids, lots of family time, spending money on gifts for family and friends, and just A LOT of overextending ourselves when we are worn out because of all these things.

So, how do we approach the last 7 weeks of the year with a clear mind when we’re being super-stimulated in pretty much every area of our lives? Embrace change.

Again, this is a season of CHANGE. You’ve got to be open to potential changes to not absolutely lose your shit if something, big or small, changes in your life. If a change in your schedule just throws off your entire day(s), well…. This might be a rough time for you if you’re not going to be willing to roll with the punches a little bit.

Next, how are you reacting to your environment? How do you react when your mom is being overbearing? What’s the breaking point with listening to your kids scream at each other? Do you yell? Do you avoid dealing with problems? Do you handle issues calmly, irrationally, or not at all? All of these changes that are happening have the ability to incite emotion in us, and if we are reacting to our emotions, we probably don’t feel very in control. The ONLY thing we can control is how we react.

Lastly, with so much going on in our daily lives right now, it’s imperative that we take some time to be completely alone. In the silence. Embrace a little bit of rest and allow yourself to have zero stimulation, meaning put the phone away, turn the tv off, and let yourself fully process the day you just had. Maybe let yourself walk through the next day and imagine it going perfectly.

As with every month (and new moon cycle) set very clear intentions on what you want to accomplish this month. Do you have any NEW goals that you are ready to act on? What is something that helps you stay grounded and levelheaded during periods of change or lots of activity?

To wrap up everything I just said in a pretty Christmas gift for you:

1. Be open to change. Embrace it.

2. Pay attention to how you’re reacting to your environment

3. Give yourself time and space to fully decompress and observe your day.

4. SET INTENTIONS ABOUT WHAT YOU WANT TO HAPPEN IN YOUR LIFE.

By the way, yesterday was a New Moon in Scorpio and everything in this blog post is what I used to set intentions for myself for the next 30 days.
